Playgroups Seeking New Members
ACT Playgroups maintains a database with over 200 playgroups in and around the ACT. Many groups have vacancies and are looking for new members. Please ring our office on 1800 171 882 to find out about groups in your area.
Some of our groups are particularly wishing to expand. If you would like any details about any of the following playgroups, please ring our office.
Language Playgroups:
I Tesorini (Italian) Playgroup meets in Cook on the first and third Saturday morning of each month. This group provides support to families who would like to expose their children to Italian language and culture.
Australian Indonesian Playgroup being run in conjuction with the Australian Indonesian Language Schools Association meets on Friday mornings in O'Malley. This playgroup gives parents and their preschoolers an opportunity to develop in a bilingual setting.
French Playgroup is a fun playgroup for French speaking people who want to share this language and culture with their children. The group meets in Turner on Monday mornings.
Special Needs Playgroups:
PlayConnect Playgroups are for families with children with autism or autism like symptoms. A group currently meets in Gungahlin on Monday mornings. A new group has started at Holder on Thursdays, and two more will be starting, one in Tuggeranong on Fridays and another in Giralang on Wednesdays. These groups are supported by a PlayConnect Worker from ACT Playgroups. Please ring ACT Playgroups on 1800 171 882 to find out more about these groups.
MyTime Playgroup is for families with children with disabilities and chronic illness. This group which is supported by a Development and Supprt Worker from ACT Playgroups runs on Thursday mornings at Cook. Contact our office to register your interest in attending this group.
Other Playgroups:
Young Mums Playgroup meets in Curtin on Wednesday mornings. This group caters to younger mothers up to about 24 years of age. Contact our office to get the contact number for this group.
New Music Playgroup is looking for musical parents/care takers to come together and jam on some nursery rhymes in a relaxed environment while our children play or join in with the jamming.
